Atabex has provided trusted professional translation, interpretation, and related services for 30 years from its corporate headquarters in Puerto Rico, successfully handling a range of work from long-term contracts to smaller projects. We are a woman-owned small business, certified by the National and Puerto Rico Minority Business Development Council, Inc.
In 1985, Carmen E. Diaz, a professor in the M.A. Program in Translation of the University of Puerto Rico, and two distinguished graduates of the program founded Atabex Translation Specialists, Inc. Mrs. Diaz, who now presides over the company, holds a post-graduate Certificate as a Medical Translator from the University of Puerto Rico, M.A. Program in in Translation.
Our services include translation, interpretation, reviewing, editing, and proofreading, primarily in English and Spanish (Latin, Portuguese, French, and Italian are provided upon request). Some members of our staff also design and teach translation and interpretation curricula at institutions of higher education and provide continuing education courses.
